Much of East Haven's inland housing dates to a period when electrical practice was changing quickly, and a fair number of those panels and branch circuits are now overdue. Recurring breaker trips, warm outlet covers, and lights that dim when a large appliance starts are all worth a licensed inspection rather than a wait-and-see.
Along the shoreline in Momauguin and Cosey Beach, homes elevated after Storm Sandy often had their service entrance and meter relocated above the flood line. Done properly that is a real improvement in resilience — but it means any later work has to account for a service layout that differs from the house next door.
